Ruth Marie Chessman
Soldotna resident Ruth Marie Chessman died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Stone Brook Inn Assisted Living near Soldotna. She was 90.
At her request no services will be held.
Mrs. Chessman was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Long Prairie, Minn. and worked as a waitress. She moved to Alaska in October 2001 and lived in Soldotna.
She was a member of Central Peninsula General Hospital Auxiliary and the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.
Mrs. Chessman was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Chessman.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Mike Moore of Soldotna; granddaughter, Tara Zieber of Spain and Holly Krenz of Anchorage; grandson, Blake Moore of Fairbanks; great-grandsons, Karl, Reid and Drew Zieber of Spain; sisters, Loretta Nicholson and Margaret Jacobsen, of Washington; and brother, Jim Riis of Washington.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations may be made in Ruth’s name to the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center, 197 Park Ave., Soldotna, AK 99669.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
