Views on DADT shortsighted

Posted: Wednesday, December 29, 2010

I wanted to take this moment to respond to Mr. Olson's opinion to DADT on Dec. 24.

I am sorry to read such narrow minded and hateful opinions such as this one. I hope that Mr. Olson will reflect on what it means to be a Christian and to love one another as God as loves him. To think that gay and lesbian people endanger and weaken the armed services is totally uninformed and shown a true hatred for people who are different from him. There are many countries that allow gay and lesbian people to serve openly in the armed services such as Israel, Canada, Germany, France and Italy. Does he think these countries are less effective and higher fatalities because they allow gay and lesbian people to serve?

Mr. Olson needs to revisit the reason he was serving his county and why that would be different from anyone else wanting to serve. Mr. Olson needs to learn what God's love truly is and find it in his heart to apologize for his uninformed views.
