Fairbanks woman named new Aniak magistrate

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks woman has been appointed as the magistrate for the state court in Aniak.

Diana Lehman begins her new post in mid-January. First she'll spend some time at the state court in Bethel.

Lehman is a graduate of Lathrop High School and attended law school at the University of Montana.

Lehman has volunteered on a Bellingham, Washington, legal assistance program for people on low incomes. She's also worked on disability law as an intern with the Montana Advocacy Program, and was an intern at the Washington State Attorney General's Office.
