ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Jury selection has begun in the murder trial of an Anchorage man charged with raping and beating a woman and leaving her body in a shed in Spenard two years ago.

Joshua Wade is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Della Brown.

Jurors summoned to state Superior Court in Anchorage Monday answered a 12 page questionnaire. The trial is expected to last six weeks.

Brown 33, was found raped and beaten to death on Sept. 2, 2000.

Prosecutors plan to use testimony of witnesses who told police that Wade took them to see Brown's body and bragged to them about the rape and murder. Most of those witnesses have since been convicted in state or federal court of unrelated armed robberies.
