Tice to return as Vikings coach

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Mike Tice will be back as coach of the Minnesota Vikings next season.
Vikings owner Red McCombs said Tuesday on a conference call that he never had thoughts of replacing Tice or any other members of the coaching or front-office staff despite Sunday's crushing loss that kept his team out of the playoffs.
Tice has one year remaining on his contract, plus an option year.
The Vikings finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs after an 18-17 loss to Arizona on Sunday.
