One of the Borough Mayoral Candidates seems to have it in for our hospital here in Soldotna and if elected he wants to make some changes. It could be a vendetta or ulterior motive for running for office or a misunderstanding of the mayor’s job description.
Maybe the borough changed the description but I didn’t know a mayor could manipulate the operation of any organization or influence its Board of Directors (legally).
Beside, Soldotna’s Central Peninsula Hospital is very highly touted by medical communities across Alaska and in the Lower 48. Since the hospital is a non-profit organization, an individual has a better chance of connecting with the rank and file to discuss a problem than for-profit hospitals. You don’t have to be mayor to do that!
