Soldotna should focus on services within city limits
It seems like to some of us living on the east end of Soldotna, that before Soldotna should consider annexation, they should first provide services (water and sewer) to the folks that presently reside in the city limits.
We know that those services would be expensive, but we’re already seeing businesses pop up east of down town, i.e. Acapulco and the new railroad car complex. the new businesses that would locate on the sterling highway east of downtown would eventually pay off the expansion of the water and sewer system though real estate taxes and sales taxes.
Water and sewer is required for many types of business that might decide to locate in Soldotna and on Sterling Highway from downtown to Boundary Street.
As John Davis would say “think about it!”
