Though the Kenai River hasn’t frozen over this year, the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will host the 10th Annual Frozen RiverFest in Soldotna Creek Park on Saturday.
Running from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event will feature 19 breweries, live music by Ellie and the Echoes and the Bunny Swan Band, and a variety of food trucks.
As of Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service is projecting cloudy skies and a low of 16 degrees for Saturday, though the festival has historically warmed far colder Soldotna evenings.
Organizers said in previous years that, despite the focus on local beers and brews, the event offers family-friendly entertainment — in 2023 kids could be seen building snowmen feet from people lounging in lawn chairs with brews in hand.
The festivities will conclude with a firework show over the Kenai River.
A “Taster Admission” costs $40 and includes a tasting cup and four drink tokens. A non-drinker admission costs $10. Children aged 12 or younger get in for free. Tickets can be purchased through a link on the event’s Facebook page, by searching “TicketLeap Frozen RiverFest,” or at the door.
