Darrell and Shirley Aleckson are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18. They were married on June 18, 1966 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Portland, Oregon. The Alecksons have lived in Soldotna since 1978. Their son, Scott, and daughter, Christy, will be here to help them celebrate. Also traveling from Oregon are Shirley’s Mom, Lorry Alsip; her youngest sister, Mary Anne Alsip, who was a junior bridesmaid at the wedding; and two of her cousins who were bridesmaids, Linda Renfrow and her husband, Dean, and Susan Hawkins and her husband, Fred.
