Diamond Dance Project’s end-of-year showcase and summer kickoff celebration, “Aloha Vibes,” returns next Saturday, May 11 at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex, with music, performances, games and more set from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Crystal Soyangco, one of the owners and directors of the company, said Wednesday that the event centers on the all-studio showcase — set for 2 p.m. — but also serves as a platform to give back to the community. There are performances scheduled all day. There will be vendors, games and a food drive benefiting the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.
“Everybody can come and enjoy,” she said. “Whether they’re part of the studio or not.”
This year’s Aloha Vibes will be inside the center, because of the construction ongoing outside, but Soyangco said it’ll have the same vibe, and the “same aloha spirit.”
In addition to performances by Diamond Dance Project, another group, Ladies of the Pacific, will be visiting, and there will also be performances by Kala Vahey.
Aloha Vibes will be held at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A full schedule of performances and more information about vendors and games can be found at “Diamond Dance Project” on Facebook.
Admission is $5, but all children 12 and under are free.
