Rabbi to teach at Peninsula Christian Center

Rabbi Dale Cohen will be teaching at Peninsula Christian Center, Oct. 18-21 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night’s service will be dedicated to the rise of Islam in America. Faith Based Community Organizing Informational meeting

The mission of Faith Based Community Organizing is to work from the faith principles and values of the members, apply those values to community issues, and take democratic action to impact existing social structures for the common good of all citizens, particularly the poor and disenfranchised. All are welcome to attend an informational meeting at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 225 S. Spruce Street, Kenai on Oct. 25 from 2-3 p.m. Rev. Our Lady of Perpetual Help plans Halloween Carnival, Quilt Bingo

The 10th Annual Halloween Carnival will be held at the Redemptorist Center at 222 West Redoubt Avenue, Soldotna. The games, fun and food will be available from 4-8 p.m. Oct. 23 and noon-4 p.m. Oct. 24. This is sponsored by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Soldotna.

The long anticipated Quilt Bingo at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is happening on Oct. 23 at Fireweed Hall. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.; games to begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be 20 games for the evening and concessions will be available. Come join us for the fun evening.

Financial Peace at Kenai Fellowship

Truth Time Machine at Soldotna Church of God

Join Soldotna Church of God on Oct. 31 for its annual Truth Time Machine from 6-9 p.m. Come enjoy the wonderful stories that brought to life to help you understand the amazing grace that God has given to us. Candy, snacks and fun!

Peninsula Grace plans Harvest Carnival

Peninsula Grace Church’s annual Kid’s Harvest Carnival will be Oct. 30 from 6:30-8 p.m. The event is free to attend and will feature hotdogs, games, candy, puppet show, and the carnival’s first ever chili cook-off! Soldotna Food Pantry open weekly

The Soldotna Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for residents in the community who are experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is located at the Soldotna United Methodist Church at 158 South Binkley Street, and all are welcome. Non-perishable food items or monetary donations may be dropped off at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon.

United Methodist Church provides food pantry

The Kenai United Methodist Church provides a food pantry for those in need every Monday from noon to 3 p.m. The Methodist Church is located on the Kenai Spur Highway next to the Boys and Girls Club. The entrance to the Food Pantry is through the side door. The Pantry closes for holidays. For more information contact the church office at 907-283-7868.

Clothes 4 U at First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church Soldotna, located at 159 S. Binkley Street, is re-opening its Clothes 4 U program. It is open on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All clothing and shoes are free to the public.

Clothes Quarters open weekly

Clothes Quarters at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 907-283-4555.
