Jonathan and Jennifer Shoemaker of Sterling announce the birth of their son, Logan Garrison Shoemaker, at 1:38 a.m. on June 19, 2015. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 20 1/4 inches. He joins siblings Levi, Lyla, Linzi, and Luke Shoemaker. His grandparents are Jim and Nancy Campbell of Soldotna, and Gary and Arlene Cooper of Nampa, Idaho.
Trent Semmens, of Soldotna, earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana this spring. He will receive intensive additional training in orthopedic physical therapy during a 13-month residency program at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Trent thanks the Aurora Borealis Charter School and Kenai Central High School teachers and staff for his early education and the City of Soldotna for financial support through the Mae Ciechanski Scholarship Fund.
