Thornton inducted into Phi Kappa Phi
Ashley Thornton of Kenai, Alaska, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Thornton is pursuing a degree in Foreign Languages at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Kenai Peninsula graduates earn BP Principals Scholarships
Three Kenai Peninsula Borough School District high school seniors were each awarded a $4,000 scholarship and are among 25 winners of the BP Principals Scholarship program state wide. Since 1985, BP has awarded more than $3.6 million to 800 Alaska students who have excelled in academics and community service.
Kenai Peninsula BP Principals Scholarship winners are: Nathan Carstens, Nikiski Middle-High School; Catelynn Hettick, Seward High School; and Mikaela Salzetti, Kenai Central High School.
McDonald makes LeTourneau President’s List
Austin McDonald of Soldotna, a junior chemistry major, has been named to the Spring 2016 President’s List at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. The President’s List recognizes students who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Danielson named to LeTourneau Dean’s List
Olen Danielson of Kenai, a junior engineering major, has been named to the Spring 2016 Dean’s List at LeTourneau University. The Dean’s List recognizes students who have achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 for the semester.
