Jacon and Sarah Hart of Kenai announce the birth of their son, Dexter Triston Hart, at 9:49 p.m. Oct. 10, 2014. He weighed 6 pounds, 5.9 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches. He joins a sister, Mynah. His grandparents are Mark and Shari Shinn of Kenai and Terry Stocks of Montana. His great-grandparents are Fred and Tressie Fike of Montana.
Army Pvt. Nikole A. Eustice has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Eustice is the daughter of John H. Eustice of Billings, Montana, and Cynthia L. Edwards of Anchor Point, and step-daughter of Bryan A. Edwards of Anchor Point.
She is a 2013 graduate of a homeschool program in Homer, Alaska.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Russell J. Dukowitz graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Dukowitz graduated from Kenai Central High School in 2012 and earned an associate degree from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota in 2014. He is the son of Richard and Susan Dukowitz of Kenai.
