The International Fly Fishing Film Festival, IF4, will return to Main Street Tap & Grill in Kenai on Monday, Oct. 14, with doors open at 5 p.m. and films starting at 5:30 p.m. The festival has been brought to the Kenai Peninsula annually as a fundraiser for the local chapter of Trout Unlimited.
According to information provided by Special Project Assistant Dave Atcheson, the event will feature the familiar silent auction and Kenai River Brewing’s Two-Timing Trout Ale.
The festival has been described by organizers in past years as an opportunity for local anglers to gather at the end of the busy summer season, catch up on the year’s fishing, and check out what’s happening in the wider community.
The festival will feature nine short films, about fishing adventures in the Caribbean, the Amazon, Nunavik, Argentina and others.
All proceeds from the event go to furthering the projects of the local chapter of Trout Unlimited. The chapter has in recent years debuted a kid’s camp, collaborated with the Kenai Watershed Forum on stream surveying, and joined with the statewide Trout Unlimited for a tree planting event at Centennial Park.
More information about each of the films can be found at flyfilmfest.com/films. Tickets to the festival cost $12, and can be purchased online at flyfilmfest.com/kenaiak or through a link on the Facebook page for “Trout Unlimited Kenai Peninsula Chapter.” Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the day of the event.
