Ice Hawks finish second in state championship

The KPHA Ice Hawks PeeWee TIII, took second place in the Alaska State Hockey Championship game on March 21. The team played an excellent game against the Homer PeeWee TIII Champions with the closest scoring game for Homer for the entire tournament. The tournament consisted of 12 teams from around the state. This team had six amazing MVPs in Spencer Kapp, Ayden Spann, Ayden See, Spencer Thompson, Landin Cialek and Mavrick Gabriel.

Head coach Tony Gabriel said, “I could not be more proud of the KPHA Ice Hawks PeeWee TIII for the way they played all season long. Those boys played with class and humility, but most importantly they played as a team and acted like a family. They left everything on the ice this morning, in a 3-2 loss for the State Championship. I would like to thank the best group of parents for all their support, and Ryan Kapp and Richard Thompson for an outstanding job behind the bench! Congratulations boys, you represented KPHA well.”
