Kenai Art Center’s annual Harvest Auction opens Friday

Throughout August, art was donated by members of the community

This month’s show at the Kenai Art Center is the annual Harvest Auction — doubly an art exhibition and a fundraiser for the center.

Each of the pieces displayed in the main gallery is up for auction — with raised funds going to the center’s workshops, programs and “ongoing preservation” of its historic building, the center’s website says.

Throughout August, art was donated by members of the community, resulting in a show that represents different styles, mediums and subjects.

Pieces on the left side will be up for silent auction all month long — after an opening reception held Friday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. The pieces on the right side won’t be available until an outcry auction held at a special “gala event” on Sept. 30. Tickets to the gala can be purchased at the center.

The exhibition will be available for viewing at the Kenai Art Center during business hours, noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday until Sept. 30.
