Did you know …
The next Hazardous Waste Disposal Day at the Soldotna Landfill is June 10, three weeks away. Keep that in mind as you spring clean and get ready for summer.
Hazardous wastes include paint, solvents and preservatives, gasoline, antifreeze, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, lamp ballasts, resins and adhesives, corrosives and photographic developers. Hazardous wastes are wastes that can cause substantial threats to our health and the environment. More than 400 million tons of hazardous waste are produced worldwide each year.
As consumers we can minimize the hazardous waste problem by disposing safely and substituting as much as possible for natural products.
