Round and About
By Norma Cooper, Soldotna
I went to buy a map today
So I can sit and plan my routes
And figure out an easy way
To miss those pesky roundabouts.
To make a left, you must go right,
Then go around the other side
It doesn’t matter, day or night,
For that’s the way you have to ride.
Now Binkley Street’s a mess, I found
And detour signs are everywhere
We have to go the long way ‘round
So we can get right over there!
When winter comes, with falling snow,
And lots of ice, I have no doubts,
Then will the plows still have to go
Around those silly roundabouts?
