Special
By Erik Lindow, Kenai

Some say I’m a child with special needs,
But I won’t be found growing up in the weeds.
I do need help for I have a need,
Even as simple as to help me feed.
When I wake I know I can smile,
All those that love me went the extra mile.
Life’s not always easy, that’s for sure,
For some things there will never be a cure.
As I grow older I’ll get stronger and learn,
And then I’ll know the right way to turn.
Warm Sandy beaches, bright August sun,
Make me feel loved like no other one.
The love in my heart is strong and it’s pure,
It shines like a Gem-made in Heaven for sure.
We’re all known by our character and deeds,
And we’re all kids with special needs.
