1 dead after Anchor Point car accident
A Homer woman has died after her car went off the road near Anchor Point on Friday.
Carol Lao, 70, died after her 1998 Ford Escort rolled over off the Sterling Highway near mile 158 around 1:53 p.m. Friday, according to an online dispatch from the Alaska State Troopers. She was reportedly driving south hen she went off the road, according to the dispatch.
“Lao was ejected from the vehicle and was deceased upon Trooper and EMS arrival,” the dispatch states.
Lao’s next of kin has been notified, and her body was scheduled to be taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing, according to the dispatch.
