A resident of Soldotna was found dead after an early morning structure fire on Thursday.
According to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers, they responded to reports of a structure fire with Central Emergency Services fire crews around 5 a.m. By the time they arrived, “the residence was fully engulfed.”
As the fire was being controlled, the dispatch says a body was found inside the home. The body was investigated by troopers, investigators and a deputy fire marshal. The body was been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified.
Origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation, the dispatch says.
