A Kenai man and a Homer woman died in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday.
According to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers, Brandon Ihde, a 40-year-old from Soldotna, was driving a 2023 Kia Carnival southbound away from Clam Gulch when he crossed the centerline and struck the oncoming 2010 Toyota Tacoma being driven by Ane Mane, a 61-year-old from Homer, the dispatch said.
The crash occurred near Clam Gulch around Milepost 119.5 of the Sterling Highway. Soldotna troopers responded to the two-vehicle collision around 11:30 a.m., the dispatch said.
The two drivers, the sole-occupants of their vehicles, were declared dead on the scene.
