A magnitude 6.2 earthquake that occurred Tuesday around 6:30 p.m had its epicenter on the west side of Cook Inlet in Lake Clark National Park, 58.8 miles northwest of Homer and approximately 44 miles southwest of Mount Redoubt Volcano, according to the U.S. Geological Survey’s Earthquake Hazard webpage.
The University of Alaska’s Earthquake Information Center tweeted that the quake was “felt from Kodiak to Fairbanks.” A recording from the Earthquake Information Center’s office phone stated that the quake occurred at a depth of 73 miles, and that “no reports of damage have been received at this time.”
