An 8.2 magnitude earthquake occurred about 175 miles miles southeast of the city of Kodiak at about 12:32 a.m Tuesday morning, the U.S Geological Service reported. The U.S Weather Service issued a tsunami warning afterwards, which advising people in coastal areas to move to higher ground. The warning went into effect at 2:50 a.m in Homer and 1:55 a.m in Seward, with no listed start time for Kenai.
