Alaska Housing Finance list opened in Homer, Soldotna
The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation has opened its Housing Choice Voucher program waiting list in Homer and Soldotna. Applicants to the program will get their vouchers based on the date and time they submit applications.
The voucher program helps low-income Alaskans lease from participating landlords.
To qualify for assistance families have to have an income at least or below 50 percent of the median income of the area where they live.
According to a media release in the Soldotna and Homer areas, a family of four can make $38,050 or less to be eligible.
Participants in the program find their own housing.
During the first year they pay a percent of the adjusted income in rent while the remainder is paid by the AHFC, according to the release.
More information on eligibility and rules for renters can be found at www.ahfc.us/rent/applying.
Applications are available at www.ahfc.us or in the AHFC’s public housing locations.
Completed applications are accepted online, in person or by mail.
