An Anchor Point man was hospitalized Thursday after suffering a gunshot wound to the head on May 10.
Alaska State Troopers were called to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer for a report of a gunshot wound. According to troopers, James Doppler, 43, shot himself in the head while negligently handling a firearm, but did not seek medical attention for five days. Troopers say Doppler’s injury is serious, but not life-threatening.
