The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will allow bear bait stations to be registered via telephone this year, according to a release from the agency.
Hunters may call their local ADFG office to register their bait stations 15 days prior to the start of the season. Upon registering over the phone, hunters will receive their permits and signs by email or mail. Signs must be posted at each bear bait station, and folks can’t use bait until they receive both their permit and their signs.
More information about bait and scent lures can be found on pages 26 and 27 of this season’s hunting regulations at hunt.alaska.gov.
The Soldotna ADFG office phone number is 907-262-9368.
