The body of a 47-year-old Anchorage resident was recovered in Seward on Tuesday, after reports that the woman was in distress in the saltwaters off the beach of Nash Road, Alaska State Troopers said Thursday.
According to a dispatch, troopers were notified at about 11 a.m. that a person in waders was having trouble staying above water.
The person was ultimately identified as Cynthia Arca, and her body was recovered by the U.S. Coast Guard and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
She was dead when the agencies recovered her body.
