A two-vehicle accident sent one to the hospital and blocked traffic for about an hour Thursday morning on Bridge Access Road.
The collision happened around 6:37 a.m. when a Toyota Tundra heading north on Bridge Access near the Warren Ames Bridge failed to stop at a stationary line of vehicles going in the same direction and crashed into the last one in line, said Kenai Police Chief Dave Ross.
“The road was closed for a little over an hour,” he said.
The Toyota went down an embankment after hitting a Dodge Dakota, which in turn rolled over onto its roof, Ross said. Captain James Dye with the Kenai Fire Department said one man was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital for “precautionary reasons.”
He was the driver of the Dodge, Ross said.
Three people ultimately were involved in the accident, Dye said.
Central Emergency Services also responded to the collision, Ross and Dye said.
