The central peninsula is hopping with Easter events this weekend.
Thursday, the Kenai Community Library will host an Easter egg basket building event from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to prepare kids for all the goodies they’ll find this weekend. The event is free and open to all ages.
Then on Saturday, there will be multiple opportunities for kiddos to partake in Easter celebrations.
The City of Kenai along with Kenai Parks and Recreation will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at Kenai Municipal Park from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be over 1,000 eggs hidden throughout the park, as well as hot chocolate for all.
In Soldotna, the Peninsula Center Mall will have its Golden Ticket Hunt on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. People will also have the opportunity to take photos with the Easter Bunny.
Additionally, the Nikiski Community Recreation Center will host a few events for the holiday. At 1:30 p.m. Saturday there will be an Easter egg hunt for kids ages 12 and younger, and the center will host its annual Hop and Splash event on Monday. During the Hop and Splash, there will be a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny at 5:30 p.m. Monday, and an Easter egg swim from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
