Two events are taking place at the McLane Commons as part of the Kenai Peninsula College Showcase. The first one will happen on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. The second will happen on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
The first event will feature Richard Chiappone, an author who will read out of his latest book, “Uncommon Weather.” Chiappone has been featured in a number of magazines and literary journals, such as the Alaska Magazine, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Crescent Review, and Missouri Review.
The second will have guest speaker Dr. Adam Dunstan. Dr. Dunstan will talk about the importance of salmon in the Kenai River for the Dena’ina community in the 19th century. Dr. Dunstan is the assistant professor of Anthropology at Kenai Peninsula College.
