The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services announced 52 new COVID-19 cases in Alaska on Monday. None were reported on the Kenai Peninsula.
The new cases bring Alaska’s statewide case total to 61,514, including 58,993 reported among residents and 2,521 reported among nonresidents.
On Monday, the Kenai Peninsula Borough had an average daily 14-day case rate of 5.82 cases per 100,000 people. The borough is considered to be at intermediate risk level.
Also on Monday, the state reported 23 cases in Anchorage, 10 in Wasilla, six in Eagle River, four in Palmer, three in Chugiak, three in Mat-Su Borough and two in Fairbanks.
One new nonresident case was reported in Anchorage.
As of Monday, there were 44 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Alaska, including four who were considered persons under investigation for the disease. Two of the patients were on ventilators.
