A Moose Pass resident received serious burns in an early Sunday morning fire, according to an Alaska State Troopers dispatch.
Troopers, along with the Moose Pass and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Departments, Cooper Landing Emergency Services and Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps, responded to the structure fire at 1:49 a.m. Easter Sunday.
The dispatch states the occupant of the building sustained serious burns and was taken to Anchorage by LifeMed for treatment.
Officials interviewed the resident, who indicated that a propane tank had exploded and caused the fire. “Numerous” neighbors also reported hearing an explosion. The investigation into the fire remains ongoing, according to the dispatch.
The resident was the only person in the structure at the time of the fire, the report stated.
