Outgoing federal gas line coordinator joining borough staff
JUNEAU (AP) — The outgoing federal coordinator of Alaska gas pipeline projects has a new job lined up.
Larry Persily will work as an oil and gas special assistant to Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor Mike Navarre.
Persily is in the process of closing down the coordinator’s office, which was not included in a spending bill passed by Congress late last year. The Anchorage office is scheduled to close on Friday.
Navarre said Persily will follow the liquefied natural gas pipeline project, other gas line projects and legislation related to those, along with other duties as assigned. He noted that both he and Persily also are interested in state fiscal policy.
