Homer Electric Association (HEA) is cautioning members to watch for fraudulent emails and scams impersonating HEA.
According to a Thursday HEA press release, the company has received reports from members that they have received “suspicious” email correspondence. The scam requests verification of account information, addresses, phone numbers and other personal information. Members are urged not to click links in such emails.
“Scammers are becoming smarter, so don’t be fooled by a fraudulent email address or caller ID even if it says ‘Homer Electric Association,’” the release says. “Please take precautions this holiday and be scam savvy.”
