The Homer Electric Association began Monday mailing ballots to Kenai Peninsula residents for its Board of Directors election. Returned ballots must be received by no later than 5 p.m. on May 5.
Eight candidates for three different districts made the ballot.
Charles M. (Mike) Chenault, Wayne H. Ogle, Erik Hendrickson, and Joseph A. Ross are running in District 1, which encompasses Kenai, Nikiski and parts of Soldotna.
Soldotna, Sterling and north Kasilof residents can vote for either Ed Schmitt or Robert K. Wall in District 2.
Roy Champagne and Louie Flora are running in District 3, which extends from south Kasilof to the Kachemak Bay area.
