A Saturday night car accident on Kalifornsky Beach Road left a Kasilof man dead.
The man, Billy Duncan, 26, was pronounced dead on scene. Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident near Mile 1 of Kalifornsky Beach Road around 11:40 p.m. Saturday night, according to a trooper dispatch. The person who reported the accident didn’t know the location of the driver, and at first, troopers found the car empty.
A few minutes after arriving, they found Duncan about 50 feet away, unconscious, according to the dispatch.
“CPR was initiated,” the dispatch states. “However, at 12:06 a.m., Central Emergency Services medics pronounced Duncan deceased.”
Further investigation shows that alcohol “was a factor in this incident,” the dispatch states. No one else was in the car at the time of the crash.
