A Kasilof resident is alive after a Thursday structure fire rendered their residence “a total loss” the Alaska Department of Public Safety said in a July 6 dispatch.
Alaska State Troopers out of Soldotna, alongside Central Emergency Services, received a report around 5:30 p.m. that a structure was on fire off of the Sterling Highway in Kasilof. The dispatch says that the inflamed structure was determined to be a loss by responders.
The sole resident and owner of the structure was later located near the residence, seeking shelter under an RV. The resident was treated for minor injuries. Alaska State Troopers Communications Director Austin McDaniel said Friday that, although the cause of the fire remains unknown, the department does not suspect any criminal or suspicious activity.
