A magnitude 5.9 earthquake rocked the Kenai Peninsula at about 1:42 p.m. on Tuesday. That’s according to the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Alaska Earthquake Center, which reported that the epicenter was about seven miles northwest of Iliamna Volcano. For reference, that is about 53 miles west of Ninilchik across Cook Inlet.
This is a developing story and will be udpated.
