A Wasilla man currently residing in Kasilof was arrested over the weekend for wielding an axe at a woman.
Ross S. Knapp Jr., 31, faces one count of third-degree assault, a class C felony, after a woman called 911 around 4 a.m. Saturday morning to report that she had been attacked with an axe, according to an Alaska State Trooper affidavit filed with the court.
Knapp had become aggressive after the two argued, the woman told troopers. She told troopers that when she picked up a frying pan to defend herself, Knapp went outside and brandished an axe through the window. Troopers reported finding an axe resting outside the house.
Knapp, who left the house on foot and was found walking on a nearby street, told troopers he had picked up the axe because he didn’t want to get hit with the frying pan. No injuries were reported, according to the affidavit.
