A trial has started in Kenai for a cannery worker charged with first-degree sexual assault following a Kenai-area incident last July.
Rosendo Pallones, 39, of Palmer, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment but was charged in December with three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a coworker. Following jury selection, his trial began Thursday at the Kenai Courthouse.
If convicted, Pallones faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.
