Multiple injuries were reported after two vehicles collided on Kalifornsky Beach Road around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday blocking traffic in both directions.
Six people were involved in the accident, three were transported from the scene and three refused transport, said Dan Grimes, Central Emergency Services Deputy Chief who was on scene.
“There were no deaths, but I can’t say what the extent of the injuries are so I can’t say that isn’t going to change,” Grimes said.
One car, a turquoise, four door Ford, remained stopped in the southbound roadway with extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.
The second car, a black Chevy truck, was stopped in the turn lane in the same direction with damage visible on the back end of the vehicle.
Traffic was diverted into parking lots that parallel the road in both directions.
