A 12-year-old Ninilchik School student was taken into custody by Alaska State Troopers this week after allegedly making “terroristic” threats against other students.
A concerned parent tipped off troopers to the alleged threats on Feb. 20, according to an online trooper dispatch released Thursday. The boy had “repeatedly made threatening statements about the school” and said that he was going to bring a gun to school, according to the dispatch.
The juvenile was taken into custody at an unnamed location not on the school’s campus, according to Tim Despain, public information officer for the Alaska State Troopers. The boy was detained at the Kenai Youth Facility. Alaska State Troopers are still investigating.
