A Soldotna man accused of murder following the shooting of his roommate in March 2022 was found not guilty and acquitted of all charges on Friday, Sept. 27.
Nathan Penrod, 30, was arrested on March 30, 2022, after Penrod’s ex-fiancee told police that Penrod had shot and killed her boyfriend, Zechariah Bowman. Penrod and Bowman had been living together.
After a trial that stretched from Aug. 14 to Sept. 27, the jury returned a not guilty verdict on all seven charges.
Penrod had faced a charge of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, a charge of third-degree murder, a charge of manslaughter, a charge of third-degree assault and a charge of tampering with physical evidence.
