Gov. Mike Dunleavy will announce on Thursday in Palmer the amount of the 2022 Alaska Permanent Fund dividend, according the governor’s office.
The dividend is calculated by dividing the amount available for distribution from the permanent fund earnings account by the number of eligible applicants, according to the state Department of Revenue. This year, the amount is expected to be about $2,600 based on the budget passed by the Legislature and signed by the governor. A $650 energy relief check is also expected. It will be combined with the dividend, according to the revenue department.
That means Alaskans can expect a payout of about $3,200, but the exact amount awaits an announcement.
