With a view of Cook Inlet in the background, builder Joe Matilla works on the roof of a 2,800 square-foot house С the first to be constructed in Kenai’s Shoreline Heights residential subdivision С on Tuesday in Kenai. Kenai City Planner Matt Kelley said the 31-lot Shoreline Heights is among the largest subdivisions to be built in Kenai in recent years. Developer Bryan Lowe said he’s sold two lots so far С the first to his son С and plans to expand to 48 lots once demand picks up. Lowe said he was initially counting on demand created by the Alaska LNG Project and other oil and gas developments to drive construction in what he hopes will be “the nicest subdivision in the Kenai Peninsula.”
