An aircraft wreck was reported on Monday 30 miles west of Tyonek, across the Cook Inlet in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, according to a dispatch from the Alaska State Troopers.
Wind and the terrain likely made it difficult for the pilot of a Piper PA-12 to land, thus leading to the crash, the dispatch said.
The Alaska State Troopers responded to the accident and the male pilot and female passenger were transported to Anchorage. Neither reported injuries, according to troopers.
