A Piper J3C-65 airplane crashed in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge on Monday evening, according to a dispatch from the Alaska State Troopers released Tuesday.
State troopers in Soldotna were notified of a possible plane crash at around 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Alaska Department of Public Safety responded with a HELO3 launched from Anchorage, which located the crash, near Rabbit Foot Lake, in addition to two survivors.
According to the dispatch, the HELO3 transported the two occupants of the plane, an adult male and a juvenile male, to Anchorage. Both were uninjured and declined medical assistance.
The incident has been reported to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.
