Central Kenai Peninsula schools were taken off safety watch Thursday after the threat made involving Soldotna schools was deemed not credible.
Law enforcement agencies were investigating the situation and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District was unable to release “additional information that was only speculative, and being investigated,” wrote school district spokesperson Pegge Erkeneff in a press release.
Erkeneff wrote that the school district acknowledged that the lack of released information was “challenging.”
“As a district we appreciated the concerns expressed by our parents in this matter and will work to improve all facets in responding to these types of situation,” said Superintendent Sean Dusek in the release.
Schools will continue with the normal schedule for Friday.
